Former Homeless Man Shares Success Story During Aiken Rural Health Resource Event

By mid-morning, around 20 individuals had stopped by to take advantage of the no-cost resources, such as care packages from Umoja Village filled with immunity boosters, snacks and wet wipes.

Some of these resources have the potential to be lifesaving; The Courage Center, a substance misuse support organization, was giving away free boxes of Narcan. 

Diggs said that this year Rural Health Services is feeling more uncertainty due to Medicaid cuts as well as federal funding cuts as the center is supported by federal and state funding.
