New Aiken Event ‘Under His Wings’ Offers Support for Widows and the Grieving

AIKEN, S.C. (WJBF) — A new event is coming to the CSRA that’s putting a spotlight on an often-overlooked group — widows, widowers, and those dealing with deep loss. It’s called ‘Under His Wings’, and it’s more than just a brunch.

The event is taking place on Saturday, May 3rd from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Mount Anna Missionary Baptist Church on Banks Mill Road. It was born from personal loss. After her 47-year-old brother-in-law died unexpectedly, Umoja Village founder Donna Wesby felt called to act. “It reminded me of this need that God showed me several years ago to focus on this population,” she said.
