AUGUSTA, Ga. (WFXG)- Umoja Village is marking six years of serving the CSRA by connecting underserved and marginalized communities with critical resources and support services.
Founded by Donna and Don Wesby, the organization operates a resource center in Aiken that helps individuals access service related to the legal system, housing, healthcare, education and more. The group's mission is rooted in unity which is reflected in the definition of the word Umoja.
To celebrate its anniversary and Juneteenth, Umoja Village is hosting a sold-out civil rights bus tour featuring stops at historic sites in South Carolina, including the Cecil Williams Civil Rights Museum and the Orangeburg Massacre memorial.
