'We Appreciate You so Much': Umoja Village Salutes Frank Roberson

AIKEN — One of the Aiken-Augusta area's most prominent educators got a standing ovation and chance to speak to hundreds of neighbors Feb. 15, with Umoja Village and SRP Federal Credit Union honoring Dr. Frank Roberson and a variety of "community influencers."

Umoja Village, an Aiken-based organization aiming "to unify underserved populations and the entire community to bring about positive and sustainable change," as described on its website, honored Roberson with the William Clyburn Lifetime Achievement Award, and saluted influencers who are included in the organization's 2026 calendar — one person (or couple) per month.
